Biography

Cristina Figueredo is a part-time tutor of Spanish and Latin at Languages for All.

She graduated in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and earned her MA and PhD from the University of York. She has taught literature at the Universities of Buenos Aires, Leeds and York. She has also taught Spanish language for the City of York, Adult Education.

Cristina’s background in interdisciplinary research and studies, which not only involves linguistics but also literature, history, and art history, reflects in her teaching approach and in the activities she designs for her classes.

Cristina has published numerous articles on English Literature in Spanish; she has also contributed to the volume edited by Nick Havely, Dante in the Nineteenth Century (Bern: Peter Lang, 2011), and her edition of the Middle English romance Richard Coeur de Lion, has been contracted for publication by Manchester University Press.
