Profile

Biography

Amanda Izquierdo teaches and is the Module Convenor for YLE/Lfa Spanish Beginner, Elementary and Intermediate. She holds two degrees: a BA Hons in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of La Laguna and a BA Hons in English Language and Literature from the University of Las Palmas. She also holds two teaching qualifications, a Master's in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language and a PGCE MfL. She has achieved the status of Associate Fellow (AFHEA).

Amanda has worked for the NCELP (National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedagogy) as a Senior Resource Developer, creating language teaching resources backed up by academic research. She has also been part of the project LDP (Language-Driven Pedagogy), a partnership between The University of York and The Cam Academy Trust, where she applied educational research to teaching resources.

Amanda has delivered Spanish lessons in various institutions, including schools, universities, businesses, and NGOs. She has also worked with educational publishers creating and reviewing language materials.
