Reenactment is a collaboration of academics, filmmakers, curators, and visual artists who are interested in the relations between memory and re-enactment and the imaginative relationship between past and present.

The 21st century has seen the emergence of a new kind of historical inquiry, that pays attention to critical distance, called Reenactment History. Playing with Collingwood's idea that the task of the historian should be to 're-enact the past' in their mind, historians not only seek imaginatively to enter the minds of historical agents but rather to act out the past so as to know it better.
