Through the University’s philanthropic and fundraising activities, such as York Unlimited and Mentally Fit York, the Institute supports ‘on the ground’ initiatives that contribute to healthier people, rewarding lives and flourishing communities.
We encourage initiatives led by early career researchers that show exemplary public and service user involvement and deploy strategies to engage diverse, under-served and minority communities. By using technology and creativity, and through new experimental, economic, statistical and narrative methods, we advance the art and science of mental health.
We’re collaborating with businesses, from sole traders to large companies, to develop and evaluate mental health interventions and training. We strive to address the needs and interests of public and private sectors in health, social care and education, through our trading companies, such as Patient Case Management Information System (PCMIS) Health Technologies Ltd, the commercialisation of our intellectual property such artistic and creative technology products, learning and training resources, and research methods and materials.
