Place and Community webinar

Tuesday 18 August 2020, 3.00PM to 4.30pm

The Humanities Research Centre invites members of the University and partner organisations in the York area to a webinar on the theme of Place and Community. The event will be hosted by Professor Kiran Trehan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement.  There will be contributions from a panel of guests representing a range of our city partners, along with a facilitated discussion. The webinar will be recorded and made available to watch later.

  • Dr Kate Giles, Senior Lecturer, Department of Archaeology, University of York
  • Dr Mark Smith, Lecturer, Dept of Theatre, Film, Television and Interactive Media, University of York

The webinar is part of a wider project to explore  the role that the arts and humanities can play in addressing the challenges facing our society and helping to build the kinds of places and communities we want to live, love, work and play in.  The webinar will be followed by an online conference from 1-15 September, which will include a wide range of contributions from within and outside the University.
