HRC Graduate Training: PhD Study and Dealing with Stress

Wednesday 30 January 2019, 10.15AM to 11.15am

Speaker(s): Keith Allen (HRC Deputy Director) and current HRC students

An informal and supportive session for all interested arts and humanities doctoral researchers

It is not unusual to find doctoral study intensely rewarding. But nor is it unusual to find it intensely stressful.  If this is the case for you, this session may well be of interest.  We will discuss what to expect at the different stages of your PhD, and share tips on dealing with imposter syndrome and social media pressure.

A panel of current PhD students will share their personal experiences and offer coping strategies.

This is not a session in which individuals are invited to share deeply personal things, but rather to share some of the more general experience of being a doctoral researcher and trade ideas about some of the best routes through tough times.

There is no need to register - just come along.

Location: The Treehouse, Berrick Saul Building

Admission: For all interested arts and humanities doctoral researchers
