The annual Festival Fringe Family Fun Afternoon at the York Festival of Ideas will take place this year on Saturday 6th June 2020. This is an energetic and exciting day of community engagement in the University year. We are seeking exciting and lightly educative activities for the event that young people from the local community can take part in and enjoy.
Postgraduates (both on taught courses and on research degrees) from across the University are invited to think up fun and creative activities based loosely on their areas of research. The activities should be aimed at children up to the age of 11. The Humanities Research Centre will sponsor those activities proposed that will work best as part of this year's Festival Fringe afternoon.
There will be a briefing session on Wednesday 29th January, 2-2.30pm in the Treehouse, Berrick Saul Building, at which you can learn more about the event, hear from postgraduates who organised activities for last year's afternoon, and find out what kind of activity works well and what works less well.
