Vicky Nesfield

Research Co-ordinator

Vicky has a BA in English with Educational Studies from the University of Hull and a PhD in Holocaust Literature from the University of Leeds. Her PhD looked at representations of Jewish identity in the Holocaust testimonies and literature of Primo Levi and Elie Wiesel. Vicky came to the HRC from the University of York’s Centre for the Study of Christianity & Culture, where, as Centre Manager, she supported the running of the Centre, its finances and funding streams. Before coming to the University of York she lectured in Religious Studies at Leeds Trinity University and York St John University, was Assistant Editor of the International Journal of Public Theology, and worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds on two externally-funded research projects.

Vicky is a Research Co-ordinator in the HRC, working with Sarah Burton, to support academic staff in the Arts and Humanities with research grant applications at the pre- and post-award stages.
