Research

Research

My research interests include commemoration, memory, identity and the collective remembrance of conflict. My thesis examines the representation and identity of Second World War veterans, and compares how far the cultural image of the veteran reflects their own experiences and sense of self identity. I am also interested in the representations of the past more broadly and in the popularity and practice of genealogy.
