Dr Sarah Wood gives invited paper at regional seminar

Dr Sarah Wood, a lecturer in Imperial and Postcolonial History, was invited to speak at the latest Caribbean Research Seminar in the North, organised by the Society for Caribbean Studies. These events aim to connect researchers working across the North of England.

Dr Wood's paper, 'A marginal conflict? France and the Surinamese Interior War, 1986-1992', discussed French political responses to refugees and migrants from the South American country of Suriname - particularly those from Maroon communities - during and after the civil war in Suriname (1986-1992).
The full programme for the day is available from the Society for Caribbean Studies (UK) website.
