Professor Sanjoy Bhattacharya chairs event in Sri Lanka

The latest event in the annual WHO Global Health Histories seminar series took place in Sri Lanka on 23 March. The series is a collaboration between the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe and the Centre for Global Health Histories here at York. It has been co-hosted in Geneva, Copenhagen and Cairo, and generously funded by the Wellcome Trust.

This event, which was co-chaired by Professor Bhattacharya and Professor R. Wickramasinghe, from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, focused on the Sri Lankan path to Universal Health Care and its implications for the Sustainable Development Goals. It was held in conjunction with the WHO Country Office in Sri Lanka, and the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka (CCPSL).

More details about the event are available on the Centre for Global Health Histories web pages.
