Dr Gerard McCann joins network exploring transnational alliances in the 1950s and 60s

Dr Gerard McCann is participating in a new AHRC Research Network 'Afro-Asian networks: transitions in the global south', run by colleagues at the Universities of Bristol (UK) and Leiden (Netherlands) for 2016-18.

The network will explore transnational networks of affinity at the non-state level, through the lived experiences of activist, artistic, and intellectual communities participating in a widening world of global connections. More details are available on the project website.

You can read Dr McCann's thoughts on ‘Real time' collaboration in global history, based on an intensive team research week at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam in January 2016, on the research team's blog: 'Afro-Asian Visions'.
