Marie Curie Fellowship

The Department of History is pleased to announce that Professor Stuart Carroll has been successful in his application for a Marie Curie Fellowship for Eric Durot (Université Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV).

‌The project ‘The outbreak of the Wars of Religion: a Franco-British History (1547-72)’ explores the multiple relations between England, Scotland and France that were to have a major impact on events across Europe in the 1560s.

The project takes its inspiration from the trans-national turn in the historiography of Europe, which seeks to question and reinterpret the dominant national historiographies of the Reformation. 

We look forward to meeting Eric Durot, who will be based at the Department of History, in Summer 2016.
