History Department in exciting new interdisciplinary project

(c) Georgi Mabee

The Department of History is proud to be a part of a major new multi-disciplinary project announced today: the York City Environment Observatory.

Our role will be to focus on the cultural heritage and historic collections of York and their relationship to quality of life and well-being in the city in partnership with the City of York Council, York Minster and other partners.

Our contribution will build on the work of the Institute for the Public Understanding of the Past, and will be led by Professor Sarah Rees Jones.
