Department of History ranked in the world top 50

We are proud to announce that we have been ranked in the top 50 departments for History in the QS World University Rankings 2015.

The newly released QS World University Rankings show that the Department of History is featured at number 43. This cements our established Top Fifty standing.

The rankings are a comprehensive guide to the world’s top universities in a range of subject areas. Using data on reputation and research citations, the rankings highlight the 200 top universities in the world for individual subjects.

The University of York now features amongst the world's elite institutions in 20 of the 36 subjects included in this year's QS World University Rankings by Subject.

For this fifth edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, 3,551 universities were evaluated, 2,186 were qualified and 894 institutions ranked total.
