The volume contains ten essays written by those working on the Clerical Taxation Project led by Prof Bill Sheils and supported by the AHRC and the Leverhulme Trust, the Cause Papers Project based at the Borthwick and supported by the Andrew C Mellon Foundation, and the Clergy of the Church of England database project.
