New bursary to support postgraduate study in memory of former York student

Through the kind generosity of the Jarvis family, a bursary has been established in memory of their son, James Jarvis, who studied at York from 2007-2011.

James completed both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees here, and was an active member of a large number of York societies including the Medieval Society and the Lords of Misrule.

His family are very proud of all he achieved and wanted to enable others to also benefit from studying at York. They decided to set up a bursary fund to assist postgraduate History students.

Awards will be made twice a year to support postgraduate students to support living costs or travel to pursue research interests or conferences.
