Record Results in National Student Survey

York's Department of History has received its highest ever scores in the annual National Student Survey.

Every year the survey asks graduating students to record the quality of their teaching and learning opportunities and assess the quality of their experience at university. The results are used by A-level students across the country to compare the quality of teaching they receive at different institutions.

This year, 92% of respondents indicated a high degree of satisfaction with the department and university, while 95% expressed high satisfaction with the teaching they received. We're delighted that our teaching is consistently popular year on year, and remain committed to improving it still further.

Of the 253 students in History who graduated this year, 94% received an upper second or first class degree result.
