The World Health Organization's Global Health Histories project links up with the department.

The World Health Organization’s Global Health Histories project, which was established within the WHO headquarters and regional offices in 2005, is now formally associated to the Department of History at the University of York. Thanks to very generous support received from the Wellcome Trust, Sanjoy Bhattacharya and David Clayton will work with the WHO Department of Knowledge Management and Sharing in the future development of this-project, which has received full support from top management at WHO and is now officially part of the organization’s program of work for 2010-2011 as an Office Specific Expected Result (OSER). The annual WHO Global Health Histories seminar series, which form an important part of the project, will be co-hosted in Geneva and elsewhere by the World Health Organization and the University of York from 2011 onwards. An exciting line-up of speakers for the year will be announced soon.
