Friday 9 June 2017, 10.30AM

A Date With History: Did You Say Europe? is one of three focus days taking place as part of the 2017 York Festival of Ideas.

For the first time, the Festival is collaborating with the French Embassy and the Institut français du Royaume-Uni to bring together leading French and British Historians to provide historical perspectives on Europe. Taking place at the beautiful and historic King's Manor, panel discussions will explore Europe's identities, migrations, and Franco-British relations.

Speakers will include Roger Chartier from the Collège de France, Chris Clark from the University of Cambridge, Jean-Frédéric Schaub from the the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and Maxine Berg from the University of Warwick, as well as Professor Stuart Carroll from the University of York.

There are four sessions, all of which are free and open to everyone. Find out more and book tickets.
