Dr Nitin Sinha (University of York) joins New Perspectives in South Asian History (published by Orient BlackSwan) as a series editor

Orient BlackSwan and the current editors of New Perspectives in South Asian History, Professor Sanjoy Bhattacharya of the University of York (UK) and Dr. Niels Brimnes of Aarhus University (Denmark), are delighted to welcome Dr. Nitin Sinha as a new editor of the series. Dr. Sinha is a Lecturer in Modern History at the University of York, UK, and concurrently Research Fellow at the Zentrum Modern Orient, Berlin, Germany. His work focuses on the themes of history of transport and communication, labour and agro-ecology under the British rule from the late eighteenth to twentieth centuries, and his research interests include topics such as production of colonial knowledge, imperial travelling gaze, colonial cartography, environmental history and social and cultural history related with Hindi printed texts and visuals.
