Dr Victoria Turner (Public Health Specialty Registrar at Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group), a CGHH Associate, has recently returned from Copenhagen where she attended the 4th expert meeting on Health 2020 monitoring and reporting, acting as rapporteur at the request of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe.
Of her visit, Dr Turner commented that “This was a really interesting opportunity to observe high-level discussion of complex issues relating to monitoring wellbeing at an international level. As the rapporteur my task was to take notes on the meeting, which I will use to produce a public-facing report highlighting the excellent work done so far by the group, with recommendations for future progress as discussed during the course of the two days.”
This is the latest in a programme of expert meetings on this issue: the WHO Regional Office for Europe convened the first meeting of the expert group on enhancing Health 2020 monitoring and reporting on 1–2 September 2016. We look forward to hearing more about the results of the 4th expert meeting in due course.
