As another academic term draws to a close we pause to reflect on the successes of the past year as well as looking forward to the next. CGHH is extremely proud to be a part of such a thriving Department. Here’s a brief report on the highlights from the University of York's Department of History from 2014/15.
The History Department’s research excellence was recognised in REF 2014, which saw the department ranked 2nd in the country for the quality, significance and impact of research. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 is the most authoritative assessment of research quality in the UK. The distinction confirmed York’s reputation as one of the best history departments in the UK and the world. Visit the department’s news pages for much more on this fantastic achievement.
The most recent QS World University Rankings placed the Department of History at number 43, cementing its established Top Fifty standing. The rankings offer a comprehensive guide to the world’s top universities using data on reputation and research citations. More on this story, and links to full rankings, is again available via the departmental news pages.
What a year it’s been, fully deserving of a big vote of congratulations all round. We look forward to being a part of more success in 2015/16.
