Graduate Teaching assistant
Catherine completed her undergraduate degree at St Andrews, before completing a Masters in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management at York. She is continuing work on stained glass in her PhD thesis, for which she is supervised by Sarah Brown. This thesis explores the role of imported continental panels in early nineteenth century stained glass practice, with a focus on East Anglia. Catherine examines how this import business enabled a new era of stained glass production, one which is heavily influenced by other branches of the decorative arts, antiquarian studies and changes to religious practice in this period.
