Honorary Fellow Dr Janina Ramirez

Posted on 29 September 2015

The History of Art Department is delighted to welcome Dr Janina Ramirez as an Honorary Fellow.

Janina Ramirez

Janina has been a close friend of the Department since completing her postgraduate studies at York and now combines her research with numerous media projects.

I am delighted to have been made an honorary fellow of the Department of History of Art at the University of York. It was here where I first discovered my love of medieval art, and my passion for teaching, so I am very grateful to continue my close bond with the University. I look forward to meeting students and staff, and to being involved with the excellent work of this world-class Art History department.

Janina's recent BBC series, Saints and Sinners: Britain's Millennium of Monasteriesis available on iplayer and her latest publication, The Private Lives of the Saints: Power, Passion and Politics in Anglo-Saxon England, was published in August 2015.

We look forward to seeing Janina in York very soon - more details to follow!
