Two new scholarships for overseas MA students.

Posted on 8 February 2013

We are delighted to announce two new scholarships for overseas applicants to the MA in History of Art or associated pathway degrees, starting autumn 2013.

The awards, made possible by the generous donations of the University's alumni, and distributed as part of the University's 50th anniversary celebrations, consist of a partial fee waiver (£10,000):

  • Jiangning Scholarship: This builds upon our partnership with Peking University, established in 2011. Applications are welcomed from Chinese applicants liable to pay overseas fees.
  • Overseas Scholarship: Applications are welcomed from all applicants liable to pay overseas fees.

Application details:

In order to be eligible to apply for this funding, applicants must already be holding an offer of a place on the MA in History of Art or an associated pathway degree. To apply for an award, please submit a brief personal statement (300-500 words) highlighting the academic and personal qualities which you believe make you a strong candidate for an award. The Personal Statement forms an important part of the selection process, and you should think carefully about what you wish to say.

In addition to a personal statement (but submitted within the same document), please give brief details of other financial support you have been offered for the period of study for which you are applying, and please state how you intend to fund your living costs and any outstanding balance of tuition fees not covered by this scholarship.

The deadline for applications is 30th April 2013. Applications should be directed to susanna.broom@york.ac.uk.
