Turner and the Whale

To celebrate the exhibition of Turner and the Whale at Hull Maritime Museum, the department will host a one-day international and interdisciplinary symposium considering key images and objects from the exhibition and the Hull collections. The day will comprise a number of short position papers from some of the most established scholars in the field alongside a number of exciting new voices, from the fields of marine painting, critical animal studies, interdisciplinary folk art and craft studies, Arctic studies, and British art history.
