Monday 4 February 2013, 4.30PM to 6pm
Speaker(s): Dr Hanna Vorholt
From the inception of the Liber Floridus, a number of scribes excerpted and copied the compilation, and this process continued for several centuries. Using one of the earliest copies (now in the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel) as her example, Dr Vorholt will discuss how these manuscripts provide specific insights into the mechanisms that conditioned and shaped the transmission of knowledge.
