Special Subject Modules for Curating & Art History Students in 2020/21

Special Subject Module (choose from available options; 40 credits)

Assessment:  72 hr Open Exam; Week 1 Spring Term

Special Subject Module (choose from available options; 40 credits)

Assessment:  72 hr Open Exam; Week 6 Summer Term

Dissertation (compulsory; 40 credits)  Assessment:  7-8,000 words; Week 5 Summer Term

 
As well as their Dissertation, Curating and Art History students must choose:

  • one special subject module to study in the Autumn Term, AND
  • one special subject module to study in the Spring & Summer Terms.

IMPORTANT NOTES

While your compulsory modules equip you with essential practical skills and experience, option modules are your opportunity to develop depth and breadth of knowledge of art objects, their histories, their historical contexts and their interpretation. We encourage you to use your option modules to explore a wide range of topics and specialisms, but we also require you to include some curatorial training. Each of our option modules carries a curatorial content rating. The curatorial content of your Special Subject modules must total at least 1 overall.
