After the interview we aim to make offers as soon as we can. However, our midwifery programme and children's nursing field of practice will take a little longer. This is to ensure fairness to all who have been shortlisted. We interview everyone who has been shortlisted, therefore we cannot make all our offers until the interviews have been completed.
Do I need to do anything?
If things change, please do let a member of the Admissions Team know, for example if you decide to take a Gap year. Please email us at dohs-admissions@york.ac.uk.
The Admissions team
The Admissions team are here to help you through the whole interview process until you achieve your results and they can answer any questions you may have about the process. It is really important that you ensure we have all the documentation that we need to process your application, so if you receive an email asking for information, please do ensure that you respond to it as quickly as possible.
How does the selection process work?
The following describes how the selection process works here in the Department of Health Sciences.
If you accept our offer it will be conditional upon a Professional Declaration form and Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check, as well as completing an occupational health questionnaire. If you are waiting for exam results, then the offer will be dependent upon these results. We may also ask for a second reference especially if you have worked in a healthcare environment.
Please note that this website is designed to support applicants who have applied to study nursing or midwifery at the University of York. It does not replace information provided elsewhere. We will continue to update these pages during the admissions cycle.
