Biography

Victoria's background is as a nurse in primary care, having originally trained at Manchester University as a nurse and district nurse. Victoria then became a practice nurse in London, before working in sub-Saharan Africa for several years in nutrition and primary healthcare. She qualified as a family nurse practitioner in 2004 in the USA, before returning to England to teach in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at City University, London. For the last five years she has worked as an advanced nurse practitioner in GP out of hours, before returning to education. Victoria currently works part-time as a lecturer in primary care, specialising in advanced practice, and as an advanced nurse practitioner in general practice in Knaresborough. She is the programme lead for the MSc and PG Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice.
