Biography

Sarah will be asking questions about the health and wellbeing of mothers with a child born with disabilities using routinely collected data collected from the Born in Bradford study. In particular, she will be looking at epidemiological links between high burden of care, caregiver mental health and health inequalities.

Prior to this PhD project, Sarah trained as an occupational therapist and worked as a patient and public involvement advisor and mixed-methods researcher for the European Lung Foundation.

Research

Overview

Sarah's research interests are: mental health and learning disabilities, health inequalities, public health and policy, and the relationship between individual and community health, wellbeing, occupation and the environment.
