Biography

Andreas Filippou has a background in English Language and Literature and Sport Sciences. His current research examines the formulation and implementation of alcohol harm reduction policies on behalf of international organisations such as the WHO. Andreas is now pursuing a PhD as a member of the TRAPS research programme, an interdisciplinary team examining the influence of the alcohol industry on science and public policy.

Overview

Andreas’ main research interest includes investigating the impact of the transnational alcohol industry on global public health policy with a view on assisting the dissemination and implementation of WHO’s “best buys” and other recommended evidence based interventions for the prevention and control of NCD’s.
