Steph Marriott
Lecturer in Midwifery



Steph is currently seconded to the midwifery education team at the University of York which commenced in December 2018. Prior to this she worked as a midwife in the NHS for Bradford teaching hospitals. She has experience of providing all aspects of maternity care in a large teaching hospital and diverse communities; including in an alongside midwifery led birth centre and homebirth service.

Steph was seconded as a midwife to Better Start Bradford in 2015 to work in a personalised midwifery care pilot team to provide continuity of carer to families in an area of high social deprivation.

In 2018 Steph became a Professional Midwifery Advocate; a role to support midwives by implementing A-EQUIP model and providing restorative clinical supervision. Throughout her clinical career Steph has been regularly involved in mentoring and supporting student midwives.

Steph has particular interests in: vulnerable families and safeguarding, continuity of carer models and resilience in midwives.
