Biography

Megan started her nursing training in 2015 at the University of York, and graduated with a Masters in Nursing having completed an internship in York Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. She then moved on to work in the Adult Intensive Care Unit at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham where she was also part of critical care’s Practice Education Team as a practice supervisor and practice assessor. 

Megan started her Clinical Teaching Fellow post here in February 2021. The role is a new innovative, joint appointment between the University and York Teaching Hospitals focusing on enhancing the student experience in various different ways: through academic teaching, clinical education, and student engagement.

During her Masters programme, Megan spent time at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Centre in Philadelphia, USA to observe nursing practice and education abroad. She is keen to explore more international nursing practices in the future. 

Megan is interested in advanced nursing practice, nursing education, and clinical teaching.
