Katherine joined the York Trials Unit, Department of Health Sciences as a Research Fellow (Trials Coordinator) in January 2020. Prior to this Katherine completed a PhD evaluating the effects of a 6-month combined impact and resistance training programme on bone mineral density and muscular function in adults with an inactive to mildly active Crohn’s disease.
At present, Katherine is currently working on VenUS 6, a NIHR funded randomised controlled trial investigating the clinical and cost effectiveness of compression therapies for the treatment of venous leg ulcers.

Katherine's research interests are primarily focused on the role of exercise prescription in the management, treatment and prevention of chronic diseases, with a particular interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis).

Other areas of interests include clinical exercise physiology and systematic reviews.
