Profile

Biography

Ian trained in medicine at the Universities of St Andrews and Manchester. Following qualification he specialised in general practice and public health, and has worked in a number of different settings both in the UK and abroad. He works at the University of York as Professor of Primary Care in the Department of Health Sciences and the Hull York Medical School (HYMS).

In addition to his university posts, he is an Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine with Public Health England.

Ian teaches mainly patient centred care and consultation skills in both the Department of Health Sciences and HYMS.
