The sessions will be live, and will involve engaging tasks, group discussions and language support from one of our tutors.

Talks on various disciplines will be used to improve academic skills such as listening, note-taking, seminar skills and academic writing.

Air Pollution and Notetaking

This session is built around a talk given by Professor Alistair Boxall, who works in the Department of Environment and Geography at the University of York. This session will explore the effects of urbanisation and will also give you the opportunity to develop the best methods of taking effective notes during lectures.

tbc Green Chemistry and Communicating Science to the Public This session uses a talk on circular economies by Dr Avtar Matharu, a senior lecturer in York's Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence, as a basis for understanding ways to communicate academic concepts to non-specialists and including the relevant skills in your own presentations.
