York is recognised as a leading university with global impact. One reason for this is the wide range of international activities in which academic staff are involved.
Developing strong teaching and research collaborations is a key factor in our international strategy and the Global Engagement team is working to create a supportive framework for departments who want to build collaborations with overseas partners.
We're a founding member of the World Universities Network, and we also have research and student exchange links with many other institutions globally:
We support our staff and academic departments in developing international partnerships around teaching or research, at individual, departmental and institutional level.
The Global Engagement team manages a number of funding schemes to promote international activities.
The purpose of the White Rose Brussels Office is long-term strategic positioning of the three White Rose universities to key stakeholders in Brussels to influence EU research policy. The Office will also engage in horizon scanning and opportunity spotting in strategic areas of the universities as well as information gathering.
The White Rose universities will engage strategically with more European universities and strengthen current links with European members of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), such as the Universities of Maastricht, Bergen and Basel.
