Submitting a poster to the Research Impact Conference, 22 March 2019

Submissions are invited for a poster display at the Centre for Future Health and University of York Research Impact Conference: ‘Opportunities for Securing our Future Health’ on 22 March 2019 in the Ron Cooke Hub.

Entries are welcomed from researchers at any career stage in any department at the University, particularly ones that link to the two conference themes (Innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment & transforming health policy and overcoming health inequalities).

The audience for the poster will include researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, plus representatives from research funders, healthcare, industry, government, cultural and charitable organisations. In other words there will be various levels of expertise and so the poster should not be too specialist or technical. Please aim therefore for brevity and visual style, more akin to an advert for your idea/project than a technical poster which you may typically present at a specialist academic conference.

Please make sure to highlight the current or future impacts of your research work, including who might benefit from the work and how they might benefit.

Poster judging will be based on visual interest of the poster, clarity of presentation and realised or potential impacts, with particular consideration given to entries from early career researchers. A first prize of a £200 gift voucher will be on offer.

  • The poster should be A0 in size and portrait format (in order to fit onto the boards).
  • We will require a pdf version of the poster which we will then publish on the University website.
  • You or a colleague will need to be prepared to stand by your poster during the coffee and lunch breaks, which are at 11:00-11:30, 12:45-13:45 & 15:00-15:30.

If you'd like to enter please complete the following Google form by Friday 8 March. There are a limited number of spaces overall, and so submissions will be accepted on a 'first come, first served' basis. You will be responsible for printing and paying for printing the poster.
