Syuhaida is a chemist with an interest in the application of analytical chemistry in the current environmental issues. Her studies focus on the impacts of pharmaceutical waste in the environment and human health. This study also will apply the life cycle assessment in pharmaceutical waste management system for the best practice in the future.

Objectives of the studies:
In order to reduce the impacts of environment due to pharmaceutical waste issues, the studies on identification of best practice of pharmaceutical waste management is carried out. This will be achieved using the following specific objectives:
To develop a critical review of pharmaceutical waste management practices and the potential environmental impacts;
To quantify the waste emission pathways of major-use pharmaceuticals and determine the potential environmental impacts associated with these;
