Sarah is a Senior Research Associate at SEI York, and has worked here since 2008. Sarah's research focus is citizen science. Key projects include 1) OPAL which involves engaging communities with their local environment through a variety of activities including citizen science surveys, participatory mapping, nature days, events and training workshops, 2) the Moors for the Future Community Science Project which is exploring species' responses to climate change in the Peak District National Park and 3) the Citizen Science and Air Pollution study exploring particulate pollution in informal settlements in Nairobi .
Sarah is interested in the people involved in citizen science projects and has produced reports on people's motivations for getting invovled for Defra and the UK Earth Observation Framework (see summary here).
