Dr Louis D’Arcy-Reed joined HuGe in November 2020 following time spent as a graduate teaching assistant in the department. Louis is a social, political, and cultural theorist specializing in the intersection of architectural and psychoanalytic inquiry. Utilizing facets of contemporary culture, media, and filmic representations, D’Arcy-Reed presents interrogations on social and political control, and the role of the built environment in the creation of cognitive and embodied urban fabrics.
He is a peer-reviewer for the Museological Review Journal and part of the department's People, Place, Planet research group. He also teaches within the university's TFTI department.
He is a regular contributor to international journals and conferences, and has written for Aesthetica Magazine, whilst also having a career as an artist and curator.
