Biography

I am a PhD student at York University, Environment and Geography Department since 2019. Before starting my PhD, I studied for a Bachelor Degree in Geography at Girl’s Education Collage in Jeddah City. Then, I studied a Master’s Degree in Urban Geography in 2009 at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah City. The dissertation was on Squatter Settlements in Jeddah. The topic investigated the frame of determination of the concept of squatter areas, and the different factors that lead to their existence, to understand of the urban and population characteristics (economic and social) of the squatter areas, and linking these characteristics together, and explanation of their relationships. Then highlighting the most important problems of these areas, and an attempt to draw some solutions which can participate in the development of the urban environment of these areas.

  • A Master Degree of Arts, In Major : Geography with  honors and general grade Excellent, From The Faculty of Arts & Humanities, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, in the academic year 2009.
  • A Bachelor Degree of Arts & Education, In Major: Geography with honors and general grade Excellent, From Girls' Education Collage, Jeddah-Literary Section, in the academic year 2000-2001.
