Miriam, MA in Cultures of Empire

Miriam, MA in Cultures of Empire‎

My undergraduate degree was in French and Arabic from UCL/SOAS. I then took two years out of education after graduating in which I decided I wanted to become an English teacher in a secondary school. I thought this MA would be both beneficial and enjoyable. I chose York purely on the amazing options available.

Having now successfully completed the programme, I can honestly say the MA is just as inspiring and interesting as I thought it would be. The academic staff has been so wonderful in helping me find my feet and allaying my doubts that I perhaps did not belong in an English department. I definitely do!
