Terrific result for English at the YUSU Excellence in Teaching and Supervision Awards

The Department of English and Related Literature won two of the coveted YUSU Excellence in Teaching and Supervision Awards on 26 June.

Professor Helen Fulton, Head of Department, accepted a Highly Commended Award in the category Best Teaching Department on behalf of English and Related Literature, and Dr Amritesh Singh was awarded Highly Commended for Teacher of the Year.

The awards are an initiative of the student union, YUSU, and are run in partnership with the University of York.  Nominations came from undergraduate students across the University and over 200 staff were nominated in in a wide range of categories recognising the excellent work of staff at York.

‎Professor Fulton said "We genuinely enjoy teaching and meeting students, and we put a lot of thought as well as expertise into our teaching programmes. We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised by our students in this positive way."
