Posted on 21 August 2019

Andy White has been nominated for the IET Technician of the Year award.

Andy White who is the Technical Support Services manager in the department of Electronic Engineering, has been shortlisted for the prestigious IET Technician of the Year Award, one of the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Achievement Awards. Andy is now set to join top engineers and technicians at a prestigious London award ceremony hosted by popular TV presenter and actor, Ortis Deley.

The IET Achievement Awards, which recognise some of the world’s leading engineering talent, acknowledge individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of science, engineering and technology in any sector, either through research and development in their respective technical field or through their leadership of an enterprise.

Mike Carr, IET President, said: “The Achievement Awards allow us to recognise the huge impact that engineers have on all our lives. Every shortlisted engineer and technician is extremely talented and has achieved great things in their career, whether they are a young professional demonstrating outstanding ability at the start of their journey or an engineer at the pinnacle of their career. We have had some very strong nominations this year and I wish everyone the best of luck for the awards in October.”

The winners, and shortlisted finalists, who were nominated by their peers, and selected by a panel of IET judges, will find out if they have won at a ceremony held in central London on 24 October.
