Why did you decide to train as a teacher?
I decided to train as a teacher because I enjoy my subject and want to work actively with it. I want to make a positive difference to young people and help them to reach their full potential.
Why did you choose to train with the University of York?
I loved doing my undergraduate course here and wanted to stay. Also, the course has an excellent reputation and part of it is based on the University campus.
What have been particular highlights of your training so far?
The particular highlights of my training so far include the engaging university sessions and being able to work with a wide range of people. The University course is rigorous but the tutors are very supportive.
What advice would you give to current University of York undergraduates in your subject area who are thinking of teaching and considering doing their training at York?
My advice would be to ensure you have some school experience. Gaining it through a YSIS placement allows you to gain links with schools in the York area.
