Why did you decide to train as a teacher?
I really love maths and felt that teaching would be the most relevant and rewarding career that I could choose.
Why did you choose to train with the University of York?
Having done my undergrad here, I knew that I wanted to continue to live in York for at least the foreseeable future. Staying at York Uni just made sense.
What have been particular highlights of your training so far?
The subject specific seminars are a lot of fun - we learn a lot through hands-on activities.
What advice would you give to current University of York undergraduates in your subject area who are thinking of teaching and considering doing their training at York?
Get some interview practice beforehand and run your personal statement through Careers before you send it off.
