Accreditation

The successful completion of this course awards a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

QTS is a requirement to take up a teaching post in most schools in England. For more information, please visit the gov.uk QTS webpage.

This includes receiving a Teacher Reference Number (TRN) which is a unique reference number issued by the Teaching Regulation Agency which maintains the database of qualified teachers in England. TRN keeps track of your individual teacher record and is designed for use throughout your teaching career. For more information, please visit the gov.uk TRN webpage.

Our PGCE programmes also include the completion of Masters level assignments throughout the training year which earn trainees 60 Masters level credits. These credits can be transferred to a full Masters degree and there are many Masters courses that further the study of education while allowing you to teach.
